Emily Anderson is reachAbility’s 4-Youth program Coordinator. Emily takes on her program with tenderness, veracity and with an approach of empathy and balance. Emily creates a program that exudes positivism, empowerment and well-being. Emily’s formal learning includes graduating from Mount Allison in May 2008 with an honours degree in Anthropology and a minor in psychology. Originally from Brockville, Ontario, Emily is new to Halifax, but this is not the first time she has left home. Emily has traveled to places such as India, Kenya and Mexico to do humanitarian service. Emily’s passion for other cultures, people and ways of living inspire her to embark on experiential learning adventures throughout the world. Emily offers an open-mind and enlightening perspective to the disability community with her innovative perspective and compassion that proves efficacious in facilitating self-determination to others. In the future, Emily plans to participate in an internship abroad and complete her Masters degree in International Development. |
