As the youngest of five kids, I grew up in a household where dealing with disability was a fact, hardly an odd reality.

Over a decade ago, I chose to commit my life to equalizing the playing field for all persons with disabilities. I did so with the clear understanding we all will have, had, or will have a disability (or two).

Here is what I have learned since then.  The reality is my opinions have not changed merely my focus.  I made a clear decision to “use my powers for good.”  I know that sounds so pretentious, but honesty often does.  Think about it… If you, like myself, believe we all have unique abilities and strengths to identify and apply in our  lives; then the real choice is simply how, when, and where to apply your own skills and unique gifts. Although I understood I had skills, I was never able to identify what to do with them until I met Dr. Bruce Mills.

Dr. Mills is the heart and soul of reachAbility, as well as our President. He has provided me the opportunity to “use my power for good;” an avenue to make smart choices.

Choice means grabbing at opportunities; finding your way to maximize your powers for good and acting on it.
