Success 40 is a program for individuals who are motivated to find employment but require additional support to enter or re-enter the workforce. Success 40 is suited to clients of all ages, but is best for individuals who are 18 or older. Clients may be entering the work force for the first time, re-entering after an extended absence, or have had difficulty finding and maintaining employment. Completion of high school before staring the program is helpful, but not required.
This eight-week program prepares clients to secure employment by focussing on their personal strengths, skills, experience, and knowledge. In connection with industry partners, participants are provided with a four-week classroom session designed to identify their strengths and weaknesses, prepare a professional resume and cover letter, practice employment interviews, and become a memorable and successful job candidate. After the initial four week program, participants are supported in a personalized job search for an additional four weeks with our Job Developer.
Workshop topics include:
- Professional Conduct
- Positive Attitudes and Workplace Ethics
- Effective Communication
- Workplace Conflict Resolution and Stress Management
- Responsibility, Flexibility and Accountability
- Previous employment experience
- Employment Interview practice
- St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid/CPR
